New Zealand overcame a top order batting collapse to record a total of 167-5 against India in their series decider at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai thanks to an impressive innings from Brendon McCullum.

The Kiwis lost Rob Nicol (0) and Martin Guptill (1) inside the opening three overs before McCullum smashed 91 runs from just 55 balls to leave India facing a run chase of 168.

McCullum dispatched eleven boundaries and three wickets before he was bowled by Irfan Pathan (3-31) in the 17th over to end the Kiwi’s blistering counter attack.
