t20 World Cup hosts Sri Lanka are aiming to get the tournament off to the perfect start with victory against Zimbabwe at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium in Hambantota.

Sri Lanka comes into the tournament with their best chance to win their first major silverware since winning the 1996 World Cup and expectations will be high for the side to start on the tight note.

Mahela Jayawardene’s side will get the tournament under way against Zimbabwe and the skipper predicts a tricky time at a venue Sri Lanka are not used to playing at.

Jayawardene predicted the newly re-laid pitch and the wind will be a factor but he said his side would try and take advantage of the home conditions.
