McCullum century gives the Kiwis the advantage

Brendan McCullum smashed the highest ever t20 International score to help New Zealand record an imposing total of 191-3 against Bangladesh in their t20 World Cup group match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

The Kiwi smashed 123 runs from just 57 deliveries which included eleven boundaries and seven sixes to give the Kiwis the advantage after the early loss of Martin Guptill (11) who was dismissed by Abdur Razzak () in the fourth over.

Despite the early loss New Zealand never looked trouble as McCullum took control of the match before hitting hit the accelerator during the closing stages of the innings as he dispatched the Bangladesh bowlers around the ground.

With a century in his sights McCullum smashed two boundaries and a six off the bowling of Shafiul Islam in the 17th over before back to back fours in the penultimate over bowled by Elias Sunny to become the first person to score two t20 International centuries.

With the runs flowing Ross Taylor added a quick fire 14 to help New Zealand set Bangladesh an imposing total of 194 to chase for victory.
