The Kolkata Knight Riders hopes of reaching the t20 Champions League semi finals suffered a blow after the Auckland Aces sealed a comfortable seven wicket victory at Newlands in Cape Town.

The IPL champions suffered their second straight defeat to leave them rooted to the bottom of group A after Azhar Mahmood (51) scored a quick fore half century to help the Aces seal victory with 14 balls to spare.

Mahmood and Lou Vincent (30) led the way as the Aces chased down the Knight Riders score of 139-6 with ease to win their third straight match after two victories in the qualifying stages last week.

Brendon McCullum (40) and Manvinder Bisla (38) got the Knight Riders off to a good start with the a 2nd wicket stand of 62 but a middle order collapse left the IPL franchise with a below part total to defend.
