The Kolkata Knight Riders hopes of reaching the t20 Champions League semi finals were ended after their match against the Perth Scorchers was abandoned after 14 overs at Kingsmead in Durban.

The current IPL champions came into the match needing to win to stay in contention after losing their opening two matches but heavy rain forced the match to be abandoned with the Scorchers 91-2.

The results means the Knight Riders are unable to catch the Nashua Titans at the top of Group A.

In the days other match the Titans cruised to a 59 run victory over the Auckland Aces who were bowled out for just 113 in their attempts to chase down the South Africans total of 172-4.
