Glamorgan hit by rain

Glamorgan's opening Twenty20 Cup match against Gloucestershire under the Sophia Gardens floodlights was abandoned without a ball bowled.

Umpires Peter Willey and Nigel Cowley had two inspections at 6pm and 7pm but heavy rain prevented a start to a match that had been a 4,000 sell-out. The game was eventually called off at 7.30pm.

It was scheduled to be Glamorgan's first home game of the season because of the redevelopment of the Cardiff ground ahead of the 2009 Ashes Test match.

Both sides take one point from the clash.
