Lillee predicts upsets in Twenty20

While Australia remains his favourite to win the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup, former speedster Dennis Lillee has predicted major upsets at the event starting next week in South Africa.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a press meet, the fast bowling guru termed the latest version of the game as "exciting for the people". "While one-day cricket is all about upsets (of relatively inexperienced teams stunning giants), it is all the more so in Twenty20," the Aussie said.

Asked whether the new format will be more demanding on fast bowlers, he answered in the affirmative while adding it will be much more difficult for them.

Earlier, Lillee, also the president of Western Australian Cricket Association (WACA), announced that a touring University of Western Australia cricket team will play the MRF and Indian Airlines teams in Chennai from Friday at Pachaiyappa's Grounds.

"This initiative is aimed at giving them the experience of playing in Indian conditions." The team is scheduled to play one-day matches in Bangalore, WACA coach Tom Moody said.
