Redbacks rounded up for 97
Western Australia took advantage of a flawed South Australian side to round up the Redbacks for a measly 97 in their Twenty20 match at Adelaide Oval.
In blameless conditions, SA were never in any sort of shape to post a competitive total, only captain Nathan Adcock (28) showing application with the bat.
Ben Edmondson claimed the final two wickets in successive balls for the fine figures of 4-14, while Brett Dorey (2-17) also bowled well at the start.
WA skipper Adam Voges had sent SA in, mindful that senior batsman Matthew Elliott had been rested after the Redbacks dropped out of final contention by not winning any of their first three matches.
The frailty of what remained was quickly on display, as Cameron Borgas, Mark Cosgrove and Daniel Christian all perished to shots that would have failed to impress SA's batting coach Kim Harris.
Callum Ferguson was then artfully deceived by an Aaron Heal delivery that turned expansively, and at 4-30 the innings was crippled.
Adcock tried to right the ship, but even he did not reach 30, and the remainder crumbled dishearteningly.
