Ontong recalled by South Africa
Batsman Justin Ontong has been recalled to South Africa's squad to take on West Indies in a Twenty20 international at the Wanderers on Friday.
He is also in the squad for the first of five one-day internationals which follows aty Centurion two days later.
Ontong has been out of favour since playing the last of his 21 one-dayers at Bangalore in November 2005.
"Justin has been in good form this season and deserves a call-up," said chief selector Joubert Strydom.
"He has made a lot of runs including his century for South Africa A against the West Indies."
Seamer Charl Langeveldt has been included in the squad but faces a fitness test on a foot injury, while Herschelle Gibbs misses the first one-dayer for personal reasons.
Strydom added: "Justin Ontong will take [Gibbs's] place for this game and AB de Villiers will stand in as opening batsman.
"We are satisfied that Herschelle's career is on the up again. We want him to play as much cricket as possible and he will definitely start the Twenty20 international."
The squad also features the return from injury of all-rounder Morne Morkel who successfully convinced the selectors of his fitness during the SuperSport Series match between the Nashua Titans and the Nashua Dolphins.
Squad: Graeme Smith (captain), Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Justin Ontong, Mark Boucher, Shaun Pollock, Albie Morkel, Johan Botha, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Charl Langeveldt.
