India to bat first at the MCG
India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first in the Twenty20 cricket match against Australia at the MCG.
India will start their innings in fine conditions and with a big crowd of up to 85,000 expected.
Ricky Ponting's back stiffness kept him out of this match and meant Michael Clarke will be acting captain again, after he led the side in the Twenty20 win over New Zealand in December.
Paceman Ben Hilfenhaus is Australia's 12th man and Suresh Raina will carry the drinks for India.
The tourists selected most of their limited-overs reinforcements, resting star batsman Sachin Tendulkar.
Dhoni, opener Virender Sehwag, controversial spinner Harbhajan Singh and allrounder Irfan Pathan are the only remaining members from the side which drew the last Test in Adelaide playing here.
