Notts allow Hussey to play in the IPL
David Hussey will play in the Indian Premier League after striking a deal with his English club Nottinghamshire.
Hussey, who had a two-year contract with Notts on the premise he would play the full season, has been cleared to miss the first five games that clash with the IPL series, which runs from April 18 to June 1.
"It has all worked out well. I'll head straight to England after the India series," Hussey said yesterday.
The 30-year-old will accept a reduced figure on his original contract, believed to be worth $80,000 - hardly a bother given his deal to play for Kolkata is worth $740,000.
"I'm very happy it has all been sorted out amicably. I look forward to getting back to England after the India series," he said.
Hussey, who started with Notts in 2004, scored 1259 runs at an average of 83.93 last season in England.
