Twenty20 Cup Northern Zone Launch

Durham County Cricket Club joined forces with the other Northern Zone counties to launch their 2005 Twenty20 Cup challenge at Headingley yesterday.

Durham County Cricket Club joined forces with the other Northern Zone counties to launch their 2005 Twenty20 Cup challenge at Headingley Stadium yesterday.

Durham Dynamos Head Coach Martyn Moxon and mascot Chester the Lion went head to head with other representatives from Lancashire Lightning, Leicestershire Foxes, Yorkshire Phoenix, Notts Outlaws and Derbyshire Phantoms.

Martyn Moxon said, "We're really looking forward to this year's competition, we've had an extremely positive start to the season and the team is eager for that to continue."

Captain Dale Benkenstein added, "The team is relishing the prospect of the Twenty20 Cup, we really feel that we can be a strong opposition and we are definitely aiming to get beyond the group stages."

Commercial Manager Gordon Hollins commented, "Demand for Twenty20 Cup tickets is already high, the Twenty20 Cup is hugely popular in the North East.

With two of our three home games selling out in advance last year we're advising people who want to come along and enjoy an evening of explosive cricket to buy their tickets in advance so they don't miss out."

Adults can come and watch all four games for just £30 while four match passes for children are priced at £20. Individual match tickets are also available, £12 for adults and £5 for children.
