Chennai Super Kings hold psychological edge
The Chennai Super Kings will start favourites against Kings XI Punjab in the second semi-final of the Indian Premier League at Wankhede Stadium, later tonight.
Chennai hold the psychological edge over their opponents as during the league phase they defeated Punjab by 33 runs and 18 runs respectively.
But going by Punjab's recent form and also the kind of striking mood opener Shaun Marsh is in, the contest could go down to the wire.
For Chennai,Stephen Fleming will miss out as he has gone back to New Zealand for the birth of his child, which meant that Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan may be asked to open with Parthiv Patel. Kapugedara might also be considered by skipper Dhoni.
For Punjab Jayawardene's experience over Pomersbach may come in handy.
