Afzaal aiming for Twenty20 glory
Usman Afzaal is looking forward to the start of this season's Twenty20 Cup and the opportunity for Surrey to play in front of large crowds.
The left-handed batsman believes the short format has been of great benefit to the game, with the county players revelling their role of 'entertainers'.
Surrey begin their campaign against Essex at the Oval on Wednesday looking to continue an impressive record in the competition, which includes victory in the inaugural tournament in 2003.
"Twenty20 cricket is good if you are an entertainer, that's what we are as sportsmen," Afzaal told Sky Sports News.
"It's nice to entertain a full house rather than one man and a dog.
"People love watching Twenty20 cricket and, as players, we love playing it. It's fantastic.
"For me personally it's fantastic to see the young kids coming in to watch the game, and that's more important than anything else.
"If Twenty20 does that then at least we are taking a few steps ahead."
