Jayawardene fights for the Kings XI
A late flourish by Mahela Jayawardene (31 off 19 balls) helped The Kings XI reach 158 for six after their 20 overs against the Kolkata Knight Riders in match six of the IPL in Durban earlier today.
After being put into bat, the Kings XI lost their first wicket with the score on nine. Karan Goel was caught at first slip by Chris Gayle off the bowling of Ishant Sharma for a duck.
Irfan Pathan then came in at number three and smacked a quick fire 32 off 17 balls (5x4ís, 1x6) before becoming Sourav Gangulyís first of two victims in his first over. He was caught on the mid-wicket boundary by Murali Karthik.
Ravi Bopara followed two balls later when he was caught by wicket-keeper Brendon McCullum for 15.
A fourth wicket partnership of 56 between Yuvraj Singh and Kumar Sangakkara propelled the Kings XI to 104 before Yuvraj was brilliantly caught by Yashpal Singh on the boundary for 38 (28 b, 3X4ís, 2X6ís).
Sangakkara was then run out for 26. Taruwar Kohli was then the sixth man out when he was caught by McCullum off Ashok Dinda for one.
Ganguly, with two for 24 from his four overs, was the best of the bowlers for the Knight Riders.
