Dynamos hold off Outlaws to secure win
Durham survived a late Nottinghamshire fightback to secure an eight-run Twenty20 Cup win at The Riverside.
Batting first, the hosts racked up 177-4, thanks to Michael di Venuto's 55 and 48 not out in just 18 balls from former captain Dale Benkenstein.
Notts slumped to 43-4 in reply before Will Jefferson's 42 began the recovery.
The visitors needed nine off the final over with one wicket left, but Mitch Claydon (who took a Twenty20 best 5-26) bowled Mark Ealham to earn victory.
Ealham had shared an eighth-wicket stand of 34 with Andre Adams, who hit 20 from eight deliveries, to give Notts the chance to record an unlikely victory.
But Claydon needed just one ball of the 20th over to complete his best-ever haul in the shortest form of the game.
The win sees Durham climb off the bottom of the North Division, leapfrogging Notts to draw level with Yorkshire and Derbyshire on four points.
