Sri Lanka score 206, India under pressure

A superb partnership of 81 from Kumar Sangakkara (59) and Sanath Jayasuriya (31) helped Sri Lanka set a challenging target of 207 for India to chase for victory.

Leading the best of two series 1-0 Sangakkara won the toss for Sri Lanka and elected to bat with a plan to set a big score which would put India under pressure.

Knowing only a victory would be good enough to tie the series India got off to the best possible start as Ishant Sharma trapped danger man Tillakaratne Dilshan (1) LBW in the just the second over.

The earlier loss of Dilshan didn't effect Sri Lanka's plan as Sangakkara and Jayasuriya soon started to find the boundary as the score started to increase at a fast rate.

Sri Lanka reached 50-1 from just 31 balls. The pair put on another 41 runs before Jayasuriya was trapped LBW by Yusuf Pathan. Sangakkara soon followed after being caught by Ashish Nehra at midwicket giving Yuvraj Singh the first of his three wickets.

Although Sri Lanka kept on losing wickets at regular intervals the damage had already been done by Sangakkara and Jayasuriya earlier in the innings.

India also didn't help their chances of victory after dropping another 5 catches to go alongside the 4 they dropped on Wednesday night during their 29 run defeat.
