Afridi hits out at Pakistani IPL treatment
Pakistan Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi has hit out at the IPL over the way Pakistan's players have been treated in the run up to last weeks visa deadline.
All Pakistan cricketers who have IPL contracts have been barred from taking part in next years IPL tournament because they missed the deadline to get the necessary visa's and NOC's to take part.
Frustratingly for Afridi and other players like Sohail Tanvir and Kamran Akmal non-contracted Pakistan players have been told they can take part in January's player auction.
Afridi who played for the Deccan Chargers in the inaugural IPL as hit out at the process.
"I don't want to be in a position where I myself have to send in a request that my name be included in the auction" said Afridi.
"I'm not saying I don't want to play in the IPL, but I think I deserve better because of my age and seniority. I would be happy if my name is included directly in the auction or if a franchisee bids for me directly."
