Sameera Reddy wants to own IPL franchise
Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy has admitted she is interested in bidding for one of the two new IPL franchise's in next years franchise auction.
"I would love to be associated with IPL. I'll buy a IPL team some day. I am fond of both cricket and movies. These two things are my passions" said Reddy.
Despite the high base rate for the new franchise's interest remains high with Reddy becoming the latest in a line of high profile candidates connected with the new teams.
Earlier this month Hero Honda MD Pawan Munjal and the Sahara group admitted they are interested in becoming IPL franchise owners although Munjal has expressed some concerns over the minimum base price of $225 million.
"On a personal level, yes, I have been interested in IPL. The way IPL numbers are going up, I am not sure." said Munjal. He also explained why Hero Honda wouldn't bid for one of the new teams.
"You can't be associated with cricket in various forms-as a sponsor of bilateral competition between India and another team, or as a sponsor of the ICC T20 World Cup or the ICC 50 over World Cup which Hero Honda has been associated with for a long time." he added.
