Volts see off Knights to secure win
The Otago Volts moved to the top of the HRV Cup table thanks to a 10 run victory over the Northern Knights at Queen's Park in Invercargill.
Volts captain Craig Cumming was 56 not out from just 32 balls as he shared a 92 run 3rd wicket partnership with Neil Broom (41) which put the Volts on course for victory.
The Knights were set a target of 160 for the win and they came up just short after losing wickets at regular intervals to leave the tail with too much to do.
Tail enders Tim Southee and Bradley Scott enjoyed a partnership of 47 runs which saw the Knights get within site of the victory target but in the end it was the Volts who hung on to claim the victory.
