PCB revokes players' IPL permission

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have revoked the certificates allowing Pakistan's top cricketers to participate in this years Indian Premier League as the row over the player auction 'snub' carries on.

"Pakistan Cricket Board announces, for clarification purposes, that all NOCs (no objection certificates) issued to Pakistani players for their participation in the Indian Premier League stand revoked" said a release by the PCB.

"In the future, if any player receives an invitation for participation in IPL events, PCB will decide the matter on a case to case basis after consulting the relevant government authorities."

The announcement is the latest twist in an ongoing row which started after the apparent 'snub' of Pakistan's top cricketers during the IPL player auction 2 weeks ago.

The frosty relationship between the PCB and IPL looked to have been warming this week when IPL commissioner Lalit Modi said there was still a chance some Pakistani cricketers could play in this years IPL.

"Some teams have still not finished their quota of players and some players can still drop out. In that case, franchises can choose Pakistani players as replacements," said Modi.
