Morgan lead the way with a fine 67 supported by Pietersen (43) who looked to have rediscovered his batting form after a quite tour of South Africa.
The pair played patiently rebuilding England's innings after the disastrous start and were untroubled by the Pakistan's bowlers as they built their century partnership and the base for the victory.
Earlier having won the toss Pakistan's innings got of to the worst possible start losing Imran Nazir, Imran Farhat and Khalid Latif inside the first 6 overs leaving them 26-3.
Stand in skipper Shoaib Malik (33), Fawad Alam (23) and Abdul Razzaq (22) all added useful contributions but the failure by any of them to build on their positive starts contributed to Pakistan's defeat.
