Boucher and Gibbs seal Proteas victory
South Africa got their Twenty20 World Cup preparations off to a good starts thanks to a 5 wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Bridgetown.
Having been set a victory target of 138 the Proteas made hard work of the run chase losing wickets at regular intervals to fall behind the required run rate.
Mark Boucher and Johan Botha sealed the victory though thanks to an important 61 run partnership from just 27 balls.
The pair came together in the 13th over and steered the Proteas to victory despite the loss of Botha (29) at the start of the last over.
Having won the toss Sri Lanka suffered a poor start losing 4 early wickets but Chamara Kapugedera came to the rescue scoring an unbeaten 61 to give the Sri Lankans a chance of victory.
