Morgan leads England to victory over Proteas
Eoin Morgan scored a wonderful half century to help England record a thrilling 5 wicket victory over South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown.
Set a target of 126 for victory England got off to a shocking start losing Michael Lumb (4) and Kevin Pietersen (0) in the first over which was bowled by Rory Kleinveldt.
Morgan led the England fight back partnered by skipper Paul Collingwood. With such a low target to chase the pair took there time, happily picking up a run a ball.
Collingwood (23) departed in the 13th over after a fine partnership of 71.
Morgan continued his excellent innings reaching his half century with a boundary.
South Africa fought back to remove Morgan (63) but Luke Wright (10) and Tim Bresnan (15) held their nerve to secure the victory.
Having won the toss South Africa batted first and were indebted to a partnership of 59 runs from JP Duminy (30) and Albie Morkel (32)after England had reduced the Proteas to 66-5.
