Lions put to the sword by Gladiators

The Surrey Lions suffered a torrid time against the Gloucestershire Gladiators suffering a total batting collapse limiting to a total of just 97 at the Brit Oval.

Having put the Lions into bat the visitors took control of the game picking up a number of early wickets to leave the 2003 Twenty20 Cup winners 13-4 after just 4.4 overs.

Lions skipper Rory Hamilton-Brown watched on from the non strikers end as his top order collapse with Steve Davies (1), Mark Ramprakash (1), Andrew Symonds (1), Younis Khan (2) and Usman Afzaal (2) offering no resistant’s.

Hamilton-Brown remained at the crease long enough to score 41 before he was run out be Hamish Marshall in the 10th over.

With the skipper gone the Lions fell away quickly collapsing to a total of just 97 to leave the Gladiators in control.
