The Twenty20 phenomenon has hit Australia and the Tasmanian Cricket Association is gearing up to host its’ first official domestic match on Tuesday 10th January 2006 at Bellerive Oval.

KFC Twenty20 Big Bash is a fast action-packed game designed with the audience in mind. Unlike its Test match and standard limited overs cousins, the object of time is critical, with each team only having 120 deliveries at their disposal. The match will commence at 4.00pm and finish around 7.00pm.

The fun and entertainment aspect of the game will be further promoted through a range of peripheral activities at Bellerive Oval. Local band “Ocsar” will perform on the hill from 2.30pm to warm up the crowd and jugglers, face painters, dancing troupe and a jumping castle will all add flavour to the day.

During the innings break the inaugural Big Bash Mascot Gift footrace will be run. Featuring mascots from the Hobart City Council, Tattersalls Hobart Aquatics Centre, the Heart Foundation, LJ Hooker and the Cascade Tasmanian Tigers own mascot, Tyro, the race is sure to be a crowd pleaser.

The mascots warmed up for the event today with a short aerobics session at the Tattersalls Hobart Aquatic Centre.

Participants in the SeaFM Cricket Clinic at Bellerive Oval on Monday 9th January 2006 will have the opportunity to preview some of the Tiger’s big hitting abilities when Travis Birt and other members of the Cascade Tasmanian Tigers squad demonstrate the art of the “Big Bash”.
