Players aiming to shine in Champions League
With the player auction for next years Indian Premier League scheduled to take place in November a host of players will be using the Twenty20 Champions League which starts on Friday to impress franchise bosses.
The ten franchises will be casting an eye over the tournament hoping to find another Kieron Pollard; who burst onto the international scene last year after a number of explosive batting performances for Trinidad and Tobago.
"The tournament is a great opportunity for each and every individual to showcase their potential and come to the notice of IPL teams," said Pollard.
"I consider it is a very very crucial tournament because it gave me my big break in IPL. Each and every cricketer will be now eyeing the IPL 4 auctions."
Pollard, who will represent the Mumbai Indians, said the Twenty20 Champions League will be a huge success adding that itís the first time he will have played in South Africa and he was looking forward to the challenges.
"The conditions here are different. It is more like Australia but being an international cricketer you need to play in all sorts of environment," Pollard added.
