Tendulkar wins the toss, Indians bowl first
Mumbai Indians skipper Sachin Tendulkar has won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Highveld Lions in the opening game of this years Twenty20 Champions League in South Africa.
The Indians come into the game as clear favorites to claim an opening victory but Lions skipper Alviro Petersen is hoping the home side can spring a surprise.
"The boys are ready for the tournament; we have spent a lot of time preparing for the event. We'll hopefully bring our A game today," said the skipper at the toss.
Tendulkar meanwhile is looking forward to the challenge of the tournament starting with today’s opening game at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.
"It's a fabulous experience; we look forward to the tournament, since we meet all the top teams in the world."
The Lions have kept faith with the team that’s played in the Standard Bank Pro20 Series earlier in the year while the Indians welcome back Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Kieron Pollard.
