Power hitting by Ryan Campbell and Adam Voges propelled Western Australia to a 54-run shellacking of South Australia in the Twenty 20 cricket match tonight.

Campbell and Voges were the aggressive mainstays of the Warriors' 6-174 from 20 overs, with SA then collapsing in its run chase to be bowled out for 120 in 18.2 overs.

The match held no bearing for the final of the inaugural domestic Twenty20 competition, with Victoria and NSW already booking berths in the play-off, but that didn't deter a crowd of 14,928 people attending the twilight encounter at Adelaide Oval.

After SA won the toss and sent WA into bat, Campbell served notice of his intentions by smiting the second ball into the member's stand with a slicing square drive.

The evergeen opener relished in the theatre of improvisation of the fledgling format, blasting another six and six fours in making 55 from just 37 balls.

Campbell frequently moved in unorthodox manner around the crease to disrupt the bowler, unleashing some powerful drives and cavalier slogs amid some wild air swings.

While Campbell was the dasher, Voges iced the Warriors' innings with some mammoth hitting, smashing four sixes in his 45 from 27 deliveries - one blow from Trent Kelly's bowling bounced once on the member's stand roof before disappearing.

Redbacks offspinner Dan Cullen claimed 2-14 from three overs to be the pick of the SA bowlers, but his feats were soon overshadowed by WA's pace attack.

WA quicks Steve Magoffin (2-15) and Ben Edmondson (2-15) had the Redbacks in tatters early, exhibiting great pace and control which the SA batsmen couldn't counter.

Magoffin bowled Redbacks skipper Graham Manou with the second ball of the innings and moments later the dangerous Darren Lehmann (one) was also in the dressing room after being run out by a direct hit from Peter Worthington.
Further dismissals of Callum Ferguson (10), Cameron Borgas (one) and Mark Cosgrove (15) decimated the home side's chances of victory with the result effectively sealed by WA in the eighth over when SA had slumped to 5-33.

Only handy contributions from Ken Skewes (31) and Shane Deitz (26) added a semblance of respectability to the Redback innings which ended in the 19th over.
