Surrey sign Aussie Shaun Tait for FPt20
The Surrey Lions have announced the signing of Aussie pace bowler Shaun Tait who will join the county as an overseas player during the Friends Provident t20 which starts in June.
The 27 year old will join up with his new teammates ahead of the Lions first Friends Provident t20 group game against the Glamorgan Dragons at the Kia Oval on Thursday, June 2nd.
The Aussie fast bowler will also be available should the Lions reach the Quarter Finals or Finals Day stages of the tournament later in the English summer.
"This is a pretty exciting move for me. I've a bit of unfinished business in county cricket and I'll be giving it my all for Surrey this year," said Tait ahead on Australia t20 international at the MCG against England.
"I always strive to take wickets and love being part of a close knit team. Some good reports about how Surrey are shaping up for 2011 have been filtering through so I'm confident that the team can go a few steps further this year in the FPt20," he added.
