Bollinger aiming to play part in title defence
Australian fast bowler Doug Bollinger is aiming to prove doubters wrong by shaking off a foot injury to play a major role in the Chennai Super Kings title defence.
The 29 year old suffered a torrid summer down under as a persistent foot injury limited his playing time for Australia during their Ashes series against England.
Bollinger suffered a further setback when he was ruled out of the World Cup at the half way stage after he was still suffering from a posterior impingement in his right foot.
The Super Kings reacted to this news by signing New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee but Bollinger insists he will be fit to play a role in this year Indian Premier League.
"I had a bowl last Friday and came through the session with no pain at all. Since being back in Australia I've followed my doctor's instructions to the letter and we're really happy with how the ankle has responded," said Bollinger.
"All going to plan I hope to be fit for game three, if not sooner. Last year playing for Chennai was an amazing experience. I'm really looking forward to catching up with the boys again and going all out to defend our title," he added.
