Sayers and Gale lead Yorkshire to victory
Yorkshire Carnegie ended their Friends Life t20 campaign with a seven wicket victory over the Derbyshire Falcons at the County Ground in Derby.
The visitors cruised past the Falcons total of 127-7 with 12 balls to spare thank to Joe Sayers (43) and Andrew Gale (30) who shared an opening stand of 52.
Adam Lyth (41) and Joe Root (43) offered support as Yorkshire ended their campaign with a comprehensive victory against a lackluster Falcons team which looked happy to have finally finished another disappointing t20 tournament.
Having batted first, Martin Guptill got the Falcons innings off to a fine start thanks to a quick fire 46 but with wickets falling at regular intervals the hosts slumped to a total of just 127-7 thanks in part to Ben Sanderson (4-21) who picked up four wickets.
