Gladiators keep t20 quarter final hopes alive
The Gloucestershire Gladiators kept their Friends Life t20 quarter final hopes alive thanks to a seven wicket victory over the Worcestershire Royals at the County Ground in Bristol.
Faced with a victory target of 160, the Gladiators cruised to victory with 12 balls to spare thanks to a quick fire 72 from Hamish Marshall at the top of the order and an equally speedy 70 from Ed Cowan.
In the Northern Group Yorkshire Carnegie sealed their place in the Friends Life t20 quarter finals thanks to a six wicket victory against the Nottingham Outlaws in a top of the table clash at Trent Bridge.
Elsewhere there were victories for the Kent Spitfires who saw off the Surrey Lions by 48 runs while the Essex Eagles sealed a two wicket victory over the Middlesex Panthers.
