Yorkshire end group stages with 21 run victory
Yorkshire Carnegie ended the Friends Life t20 group stages with a comprehensive 21 run victory over the Derbyshire Falcons at Headingly to seal their place at the top of the Northern Group.
Having set a total of 180-5, Yorkshire restricted the Falcons to a total of just 159-9 to record their 7th victory of the group stages top seal a home match in the quarter finals.
The match at the Rose Bowl between the Hampshire Royals and the Essex Eagles was abandoned without a ball being bowled because a wet outfield; despite the result both teams sealed places in the quarter finals.
Elsewhere in the Southern Group the Kent Spitfire ended a mixed campaign with a three wicket victory over the Middlesex Panthers at Uxbridge while the Surrey Lions beat the Sussex Sharks by seven wickets in a five over shoot out.
There were also victories for the Welsh Dragons against the Warwickshire Bears, the Somerset Sabres against the Worcestershire Royals and the Nottinghamshire Outlaws against the Leicestershire Foxes.
The Gloucestershire Gladiators sealed a place in the quarter finals thanks to a eight wicket Duck Lewis victory over the Northants Steelbacks at the County Ground in Northampton.
Meanwhile at the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground in Chester-le-Street the Durham Dynamos tied with the Lancashire Lightning to end both teamsí hopes of reaching the quarter finals.
