Wily Foxes edge past Derbyshire

Leicestershire sneaked past Derbyshire in a tight game at Derby which left the hosts at the foot of the North table.

Chasing the home side's 177-6, the Foxes made it home with two balls to spare after Hylton Ackerman (66) and Paul Nixon (65) did the hard work.

Greg Smith's 79 was the bedrock of the hosts' total, with Simon Katich adding a quickfire 39 not from 21 deliveries.

But Derbyshire's bowlers could not make in-roads into the Foxes' order, Nixon and Ackerman sharing a stand of 121.
