Tasmania restrict NSW to 157
Good bowling and restrictive fielding gave Tasmania a reachable target in their Twenty20 clash against NSW at Bellerive Oval.
Tasmania kept NSW to eight for 157 from 20 overs in excellent conditions for batting after the visitors won the toss and raced to 3-95 after 12 overs.
Ben Hilfenhaus was the best bowler for the Tigers with three for 38, including two wickets in two balls where he had Simon Katich caught for six and Thornley leg before the next ball.
Brett Geeves chimed in with two wickets in the last over for two for 28 from his four overs.
Brad Haddin top scored for the visitors with 49 runs from 41 deliveries before an attempted flick of Xavier Doherty full toss was caught by Dane Anderson.
Haddin was aided in a handy partnership of with Moises Henriques 53 runs off 43 balls.
A late flourish by David Warner with 31 off 22 balls gave the NSW scorecard some respectability but probably 20 runs short in a great batting track.
