Harbhajan ready to make peace

India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is ready to make peace with Australia batsman Matthew Hayden.

The pair fell out before the Commonwealth Bank Series final when Hayden labelled Harbhajan an "obnoxious little weed" in a radio interview.

Although Hayden was reprimanded by Cricket Australia for his comments, Harbhajan decided to answer back in his own way by reportedly branding the 36-year-old Queenslander a "liar" on his return from Australia.

Hayden - due to represent the Chennai team when the Indian Premier League gets under way next month - admits he made a mistake with his choice of words and wants to meet Harbhajan to put their differences behind them.

Responding to Hayden's peace offer, Harbhajan told Mumbai newspaper Mid Day: "These things happen in the game, and I am happy if he wants to patch up. I never had any problem off the field with him.

"He is more than welcome to come and talk it over. Cricket is bigger than everyone, and I am no-one in front of cricket.

"I always got on with the game - and now if he wants to get on with the game, I am happy to talk to him. From my side, the issue is solved."

Harbhajan is also not averse to being friends with Andrew Symonds, who accused the 27-year-old of racially abusing him in the controversial Sydney Test.

"I am more than happy to be friends with everyone. What happens on the field should be left on the field," he said.

"If you say something, you should be able to take it. Otherwise, don't say it. I will be happy to put the issue behind me."
