Chennai chasing 150 runs to beat Kolkata
The Chennai Super Kings have to chase a winning target of 150 runs to beat the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 41st Twenty20 match of the Indian Premier League, being played at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.
Kolkata captain Sourav Ganguly won the toss and decided to bat first but his team could score 149 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Opener Salman Butt was the top scorer with 73 off 54 balls. He hit 10 fours and one six and added 82 runs for the third wicket stand with Debabrata Das, who contributed 27 with two sixes and one four.
Makhaya Ntini bowled excellently to bag four wickets for 21 runs. He dismissed captain Sourav Ganguly (2), Debabrata Das (27), David Hussey (nought) and Mohammad Hafeez (6) to put the Kolkata team in trouble.
Kolkata made just the one change, bringing in Debabrata Das in place of Aakash Chopra. Mohammad Hafeez opened the innings with Salman Butt. Chennai made two changes, bringing in Parthiv Patel and Makhaya Ntini for Chamara Kapugedera and Joginder Sharma, respectively.
