Lightning make easy work of the Phantoms

Former New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent slammed an unbeaten century to spur Lancashire to a nine-wicket win over Derbyshire.

Vincent faced just 63 deliveries in his knock of 102 not out, and hit 11 fours and three sixes to delight the home crowd at Old Trafford.

Lancashire, whose star Andrew Flintoff wasn't required to bat, cruised to their target of 154 in just 16.2 overs thanks to Vincent's heroics.

The result drew Lancashire level with Durham at the top of the north division.

Vincent, who played 23 tests and 102 one-day internationals, handed in his New Zealand contract in February after revealing he was suffering from bipolar disorder.

He subsequently signed for the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) and was playing for Ramsbottom in the Lancashire league before being signed as the county's overseas player for the Twenty20 campaign.
