Stanford match gets green light
The $20 million winner takes all Twenty20 match between England and the Stanford Superstars is set to go ahead as a legal row has been resolved with Digicel, according to reports.
Sir Allen Stanford is believed to have come to a compromise with Digicel, the main sponsor of the West Indies Cricket Board, settling the legal arguments that had cast doubts over the match taking place.
Digicel recently won a high court case against the WICB, successfully arguing they held the rights to the match as the main sponsors of cricket in the Caribbean.
This unique match is scheduled for November 1 and the England players will each pocket £500,000 if they win.
A statement confirming the deal is expected shortly.
