DLF committed to remain IPL title sponsors
Dispelling rumours of a pull-out in the wake of the world-wide economic meltdown, real estate firm DLF Ltd on Wednesday said it is committed to remain title sponsors of the Indian Premier League, the second edition of which will be held in April-May 2009.
DLF, which won the title sponsorship of the multi-million dollar IPL for five years in 2008, said it was certain that the second edition of the event "will be even bigger and better than last year".
"Our commitment towards the DLF Indian Premier League remains resolute and long term, given the immense synergies involved. We will continue to support the League that has ushered in a new era of Cricket and entertainment for a global audience," said Group Executive Director Rajeev Talwar in a media release.
IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi also expressed happiness that the real estate firm "will continue to play an integral part in helping develop the league into a truly world-class platform for showcasing and developing cricketing talent globally".
