Mohammad Asif handed one year IPL ban

Pakistani speedster Mohammad Asif has confirmed that he has been banned by the Indian Premier League (IPL) for one year after found guilty of using drugs.

Asif, who appeared before the IPL Drugs Tribunal, had clarified that he had tested positive for nandrolone because of the eye drops he had used.

Asif was detained in Dubai on the above charges for several weeks, before he was released after the intervention of Pakistani authorities. The IPL drugs tribunal did not by Asif's argument and slapped a one year ban on the pacer.

When Asif visited India this month, he said about leaving the IPL on good terms.
