That despondent realisation came after the blow of watching his side crash to their second Twenty20 Cup defeat in the space of 48 hours.

A disappointing loss to Gloucestershire on Friday was followed by a crushing 54-run reversal at the hands of Warwickshire at Swansea on Saturday.

And a downbeat Croft, who led the Welsh county to last year's semi-finals, accepted the county were left with an uphill struggle.

'We have got five games left and we need to win all of them," said Croft.

"In a way it's a lot easier to look at it because we know what we have to do.

'The ball is very firmly in our court.

"I don't think we are completely out of it, but we have got to put our own house in order."

Glamorgan's problem on Saturday was that they allowed Warwickshire to rack up 205 for seven, their highest ever score in the competition.

And it was only the second time Croft's side have conceded more than 200 since the inception of the short-form game.

And with Croft putting himself to the top of the order after Matthew Elliott and Sourav Ganguly opened in the first two games, the captain revealed there may be more changes to Glamorgan's Twenty20 approach, starting with the trip to face Somerset at Taunton later today.

'There could be something fresh down at Taunton.

'This competition is high on our agenda so we have to improve - and to improve very quickly.

'We need to look at ourselves, but not in a self-pity way.

'If you wallow in self pity you die as a team and I am not going to let that happen to us."

Glamorgan's bid to beat Warwickshire did not start well after the new-ball bowlers - Andrew Davies and Darren Thomas - conceded 65 in the first five overs as Nick Knight and Neil Carter laid down an impressive platform for the Bears.

Jim Troughton and Jonathan Trott took up the cause and ensured Glamorgan would have to chase at more than 10 an over - a task that proved to be well beyond them on this occasion.

Only Elliott, with 51 from 32 balls, looked on song with Ganguly facing 19 dot balls in his 36.

When Elliott was fourth man out with only 101 on the board in the 14th over there was only one winner, especially as Glamorgan had lost their last nine wickets for only 61 runs.
