Brendon McCullum reported for dissent
Kolkata Knight Riders Captain Brendon McCullum was reported by the match umpires Mr. S Ravi and Mr. Rudi Koertzen for showing on-field dissent during the Knights Riders 6 wicket defeat against the Deccan Chargers in Johannesburg yesterday.
On-field dissent by a player is a Level 1 offence and is a direct breach of the Indian Premier League’s Code of Conduct for Players as per the Laws of the Game.
The Indian Premier League, based on information provided by Match umpires S. Ravi and Rudi Koertzen, will today hold a hearing with the Kolkata Knight Riders – Captain Brendon McCullum at 5:30 pm at the Sandton Sun in Johannesburg.
The incident occurred yesterday during Game 48 of the Season 2009 of the DLF Indian Premier League here in South Africa when after the first delivery of the 20th over Mr. S. Ravi – the Match Umpire standing at the Non-Strikers end no-balled the Kolkata Knight Riders for there being only three fielders in the 30 yards circle during the Deccan Chargers innings.
