Centurion Allenby stars in easy Foxes win
James Allenby hit his maiden Twenty20 century as Leicestershire eased to an easy 70-run victory over East Midlands rivals Nottinghamshire at Grace Road.
The Australian hit eight sixes and seven fours in his 58-ball 110 as the Foxes posted 205-2, their second highest total in the competition.
Harry Gurney (3-21) then took three early wickets to reduce Notts to 35-3.
And Allenby followed up his batting heroics with three victims of his own as the visitors limped to 135 all out.
Wayne White wrapped up the innings, taking three of the last four wickets to fall to finish with figures of 3-27.
It was only Leicestershire's second victory of this season's Twenty20 Cup and meant they leapfrogged Nottinghamshire at the bottom of the North division to join Derbyshire and Durham on four points.
The Nottinghamshire bowlers were made to toil as Allenby shared partnerships of 79 with Matthew Boyce (34) and 105 with James Taylor (41 not out) on the way to guiding the Foxes to a more than competitive total.
It certainly proved far too much for Notts as only four batsmen made double figures, Bilal Shafayat top-scoring with just 29.
