Brown knock sees off Derbyshire
Ali Brown's hit his third-successive Twenty20 half-century but it was not enough to prevent Nottinghamshire from going out of this year's competition.
Brown smashed 65 from 42 balls as Notts overhauled Derbyshire's total of 165-6 for the loss of two wickets with more than three overs to spare.
He was ably supported by Matt Wood (34) and Will Jefferson (31).
But Leicestershire's victory over Yorkshire means that Notts can longer qualify for the quarter-finals.
Earlier, Graham Wagg anchored Derbyshire's innings with 62 before Wavell Hinds plundered an unbeaten 45 from 31 balls.
Former England all-rounder Mark Ealham bowled a double-wicket maiden on his way to figures of 3-20.
Brown and Wood then got the home side off to a blistering start by bringing up their half-century stand in just four overs.
When Wood was trapped lbw by Nantie Haywood with the score on 59, it signalled the start of partnership of 93 between Brown and Jefferson.
Brown was bowled by Wagg with just 14 required for victory, to leave David Hussey to launch a six over cover to seal the win with 20 balls to spare.
