Ireland set for Scotland qualifying clash

Ireland and Scotland have been drawn in the same group along side Afghanistan and the United States for next Februarys Twenty20 World Cup qualifying competition in the United Arab Emirates.

The Irish are favorites to qualifying alongside the Netherlands who famously beat England during this years Twenty20 World Cup at Lords.

The event will run over five days and the two finalists who qualify from the Super Four stage will earn a place at next years Twenty20 World Cup in the West Indies.

The winners of each group along with the runners up in each group will meet in the Super Fours to determine the Finalists.

The winners of the event will face qualify for Group C and face South Africa and India while the losers will face England and the hosts the West Indies in Group D.

The eight team event will be played at two stadiums, the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi who will host six group games while the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai which will host 11 games, including six group stage matches, four Super Four matches and the final.

The other teams drawn in Group B are Kenya, the Netherlands, Canada and the UAE.
