Wizards last ball thriller against Aces
Rob Nicol helped lead the Canterbury Wizards to a thrilling last ball 5 wicket victory over the Auckland Aces at Colin Maiden Park.
Chasing 145 for victory Nicols was in fine form smashing 52 runs from just 35 balls to start the Wizards run chase in perfect fashion.
Wizards captain Peter Fulton made a quick fire 26 before a middle order collapse allowed the Aces bowlers to restrict the Wizards and slow the run rate.
The tension was mounting as the game neared the end, with an over to go with the Wizards still needed another 10 runs for victory. McMillan was cleaned bowled off the first ball of the over before Kruger van Wyk hit a six with the first ball he faced.
The Wizards then took two singles before van Wyk scored the winning runs.
