Blues collapse, Warriors claim easy victory

The Retravision Blues crushed the SpeedBlitz Blues by 127 runs at the WACA to seal a crushing victory in tonight's KFC Big Bash encounter against the defending champs.

The Warriors had set the Blues a imposing total of 199 for victory after Shaun Marsh had hit a memorable century sharing a record setting first wicket partnership of 158 with Wes Robinson.

The Blues innings started off terrible with David Warner going for a duck after being caught at cover by Theo Doropoulos off the bowling of Brad Knowles in the second over.

The wicket of danger man Warner put the Blues on the back foot and the Warriors pressed home their advantage removing Usman Khawaja (6) and Moises Henriques inside the first 4 overs.

Phil Jaques (16) and Steven Smith (14) lead a mini recovery for the Blues before they both departed in the 7 over to leave the defending champs 55-4.

It was left to Mitchell Marsh to rip through the tailer order and finsih of the Blues who ended the game 71 all out. Marsh took four wickets in his 2.2 overs concedding only 6 runs.

Earlier Adam Voges won the toss for the Warriors and on a perfect night for batting the Warriors captain didn't hesitate in deciding to bat first.

The decision paid of for Voges as Marsh and Wes Robinson enjoyed an opening partnership of 168 for the Warriors, a new KFC Big Bash record.

Marsh enjoyed the batsmen friendly conditions scoring his 100 from just 53 balls.

The partnership was broken by Mitchell Starc who cleaned bowled Robinson for 54 with two overs to go. Luke Ronchi joined Marsh in the middle and the pair smashed another 30 runs to leave the Blues facing a run chase of 199.
