Aces win thriller to claim first win

The Auckland Aces held on to beat the Wellington Firebirds at the Basin Reserve by 2 runs to record their first HRV Cup victory of the season.
Chasing a total of 170 the Firebirds came into the last over needing just 8 runs for the victory but Colin de Grandhomme kept his composure for the Aces and denied the home side in a thrilling finish.
Aranu Kitchen stared with the bat for the Aces hitting a quick fire 61 from just 41 balls to set up the win for the visitors even after James Frankin and Chris Nevin shared a 90 run partnership which almost sealed victory for the Firebirds.
